Since starting Machen Law in 2009, I have represented scores of clients in a variety of settings that range from state and appellate court to administrative hearings and mediations. I have advised and advocated for individuals and small businesses in the areas of regulatory, employment, contracts and landlord-tenant law.
Unlike many larger firm attorneys, I answer my own phone calls, personally explain my strategy and communicate choices to my clients in order to achieve that client’s goals. I also bring the benefit of many years of experience in identifying realistic anticipated outcomes while adding unquantifiable value along the way.
After graduating U.C. Hastings College of the Law in 1996, I served in a variety of executive and advisory roles in Bay Area government for a dozen years, culminating in three years service as the head of a regulatory agency. Whether in government or private practice, I have consistently promoted sensible public policy, efficiency and pragmatism. Those same traits can be invaluable to potential law clients who seek my counsel during a free 30-minute consultation. I strive to make the process accessible and affordable.
